The Authentic Old West . . . part 6

a dog cab

AN 1800s ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN POPULARIZED THE NEEDLESS
CONCEPT OF THE  TRAVELLING TOILET,  AND FOR A PRICE IT
OFFERED THE LATEST IN CIVILIZED CONVENIENCE . . .
FOLKS WANTED TO BE REGARDED AS MODERN AND CIVILIZED . . .
BECAUSE  OUTHOUSE ON WHEELS  WAS A LOOSE FRANCHISE,
MANAGERS OPERATED SUB-STANDARD VEHICLES . . .
Lack of walls and roof - a code violation.
EVENTUALLY PUBLIC INTEREST WANED, AND THE INDUSTRY COLLAPSED . . .
DUELING FOR HONOUR WAS IMPORTED FROM EUROPE TO THE WEST.
WE'VE ALL HEARD THE FAMOUS STORIES, AND WHO KNOWS HOW

THE OLD WEST'S  FAMOUS WOMEN ALL HAD NAMES LIKE
ANNIE TRAINWRECK AND DISASTEROUS DEEDEE . . .
THE STREETS OF LAREDO (THE COWBOY'S LAMENT) IS AN OLD WEST
SONG COVERED BY MANY RECORDING ARTISTS AND MUSICIANS . . .
